The Lavochkin La-5 was a development of the LaGG-3 with a ASh-82 (M.82) engine. First flight took place in March 1942. About 10 000 of all series were built. -

Development of the La-5, the La-5FN had a more powerful engine, ASh-82FN (M-82FN) and a modified cockpit. -

The Lavochkin La-7 was a development of the of the La-5 series which first flight took place the 1 february 1944. About 5700 were built.
