Messerschmitt 109F-4 (Stalingrad)
This Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4 was lost in action on the outskirts of Stalingrad in 1943. Its partial remains were rediscovered by Russian aviation archaeologists in 2011. This fragment, painted with the distinctive Eastern Front yellow identification band, was part of this aircraft's outer wing undersurface skin.
