Mitsubishi A6M2 Model 21 Zero (Rabaul 1943)
This A6M2 Model 21 Zero was built by Nakajima sometime in September 1942. Serial number 51553, it was deployed to Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, likely with the 582nd Kokutai (Naval Air Group).
It Was recovered in 1967 from kavieng and laterfully restored. It is on permanent display in the United States Air Force Museum, Dayton, Ohio.
